The Arbroath Guildry is one of only 11 Guildries still in existence in Scotland and, outwith the church, it’s the oldest continuously existing organisation in Arbroath.
Scotland’s other Guildries are: Aberdeen; Ayr; Berwick-on-Tweed; Brechin; Dundee; Edinburgh; Glasgow; Lanark; Perth; and Stirling.
The Deans and Lord Deans of all these Guildries are members of the national Court of Deans of Scotland which meets twice a year to provide co-ordination and communication between the various Guildries. The Court is presided over by an annually elected Lord President.
